[Liverpool] scanner problem

Hi

My name is Ernest Webb.

I hope it is in order for me to ask for help at this post address.

I am running Debian 4.0 AMD64. I have an Epson GT7000
SCSI scanner.
The scanner works alright when connected to device driver sg0 , sg1, or sg2.
On some occasions when I boot there is also device driver sg3. When this happens and the scanner connects to device driver sg3 the scanner does not work.
 Can I tell the scanner to connect to a specific device driver?
 Your help would be appreciated.
