Indeed. The airline ticket doesn't include any of the
cost to future generations. Indeed, with airline fuel
a quarter of the cost of that to every other means of
transport, it should always be cheaper :-/
However trains are pretty competitive, & have the
advantage of comfort. Air travel (for those of us
who can rarely afford business class) seems some
sort of masochism: 2 or 3 hr check in, cramped seats,
toxic cabin air, UK immigration controls that
assume you're a criminal or terrorist, laughable
restrictions on what you can carry, significant
chance of losing your luggage...
Sleeper train Warsaw --> Cologne from GBP29 for couchette

Nevertheless, comfort & price aside, the moral
choice is surely more important...

... at least while we have a choice :-/
Anyway, shall I try & move back on topic?
FOSDEM is getting v crowded, but is still a
unique community event.
Whether you're involved in Debian, KDE, Apache, or
whatever, it's the opportunity to meet up with
ppl you only see on irc for the rest of the year,
to hear some great talks, to have great, random
conversations with all sorts of ppl, & to
give your liver a chance to shine (last time I
was there the FSFE dragged me to a bar with a
*three page* beer menu =0) )
See you there?
