handsets and especially moreso if they're a Pay As You Go handset (as with
most other mobile networks). The best way to find out, of course is to pop
another network's SIM card in and see if it likes it..but I understand you
are unable to get hold of another SIM.

I found a website that can apparently generate the SIM unlock code for you.
Not sure if you have to pay for it or not though, but it does mean you can
do it from the comfort of your home.
