So, we were going to start up the study groups again, but got a little
side-tracked. Joanna just reminded me that the SaaS course is now
online, so this is a good time to sign up if you were interested in
that one!
Let's try for a regular study group evening, starting on:
Tues 6th March, 18:00-21:00
DoES Liverpool http://doesliverpool.com/location/
Purpose:
Quiet but sociable space for evening study, for any course, to
study individually or in small groups.
Desk, coffee, wifi, and power are provided. Bring own books/resources!
(Happy with 1st Tuesday of Month? or not? shout, and we can
keep/change it as appropriate!
We can also move to more regular meetings, if there's demand).
Some of us will be studying https://www.coursera.org/saas/ (Software
as a Service, this looks very appropriate to anyone interested in
Agile, Lean, and Cloud computing, but also to new Software Engineering
students/trainees in general).
However, you're welcome to join and study along with any online class.
It looks like all the Stanford classes are now being run on the
http://www.coursera.org/ platform which is no longer Stanford branded.
Many of them seem to be delayed, but check if you're interested, as
they may be starting soon!
And Sebastian Thrun is starting up other courses over on Udacity. Oh
my... so many to choose from.
Cheers,
Hakim
