[Liverpool] help with grub error on laptop

Hello I have an old HP laptop that has Peppermint 3 on it- tonight it died and has a grub error on it and it won't boot! I don't know how to fix this error. I have posted on the Linux Community forum and I am waiting a reply (I am using my Mint netbook at the moment). I really need my laptop as I use it more than the netbook and it has some files on it I need and favourites links. I don't know if they can help me fix it via the forum or if it needs someone here to help me- if it needs someone in person would anyone be so kind as to help me please? I am unemployed at the moment so can't afford to pay anyone sadly, or I would but we could meet in the social centre or anywhere that is preferred- I would at least get you a beer or a brew. I would be very grateful. I can usually solve any issues myself with the forum, but unsure if it can be done remotely.
