[Liverpool] Hosting provider recommendations

What hosting provider do people use around here? I'm looking for 
something basic, reliable and good value - if possible. I need DNS 
hosting, IMAP email - and if possible PHP and MySQL - but I'd be 
interested in packages without the last two as well (if there is such a 
thing). Ideally a large(ish) provider, in a proper data centre.

Alternatively, someone mentioned a good VPS provider a while ago - but I 
can't remember the details?
