[Liverpool] Synology NAS advice

Hello all,

It does look like there will be no talk tomorrow - but I'm sure we won't 
be short on topics of conversation - as usual!

On a different topic, does anybody here have anything to do with 
Synology NAS's? I haven't had reason to use them as I normally deploy a 
Linux server, but a client has one installed by their previous IT 
support people, and I'm trying to get my head around it. It is a DS218j 
model. To me it seems a bit slow and clunky in terms of performance - 
even serving files or browsing directories on the internal network. Is 
that what they are supposed to be like? Any other notes on their foibles 
or quirks, if you've dealt with one?
