Not sure how many of you are Slashdotters; those of you who are will have seen this article linked, but if you're an irregular visitor, or you just don't, you might be interested:

It is "a GPU roundup to top all GPU roundups in the Linux world".  It also provides a performance-measuring tool called framegetter (BSD license) which you can run on your own PC to see how it measures up.

They briefly run through some of the issues which arose with combining the latest kernel with the latest hardware.
