I sent a message of thanks to the Birmingham Perl Mongers and got this 
reply

Hi Phil,

Glad you all enjoyed coming up to see us. Normally the talks finish by
9.30pm, so there's plenty of time to chat and drink beer afterwards. Not
quite sure how we managed to last so long! It was great to have you 
along,
as it's always nice to have some fresh outlooks on our presentations. 
By the
way if any of you guys fancy presenting a talk, it doesn't have to be 
Perl
as we've had all sorts in the past, just let me know.

There will probably be only 3 talks at the next event, although all are
30-40 minutes each and still packed full of good stuff, so hopefully 
you'll
be able to make that meet too. I'll be updating the details on the 
website
shortly, so keep an eye on that.

BTW feel free to join the mailing list, if you haven't already :)

I also sent another mail to the Hereford LUG but have not as yet had a 
reply


On Tuesday we all suggested another Indian - I think Geoff mentioned 
that his  place was not available this month (17th) so perhaps we could 
go to the indian instead

How does that grab anyone?
