Hi Keith -  nice to hear from you.

I was referring to the  dfefault mailer which I got in each case when I 
installed them.

I  knew that they were not the same,  but I had not at that time  worked out
what got installed when I upgraded from Woody to Sarge.  The  default
mail-clients for the  different versions of KDE are not the same.

I guess I could change that,  but I think I will try them side by side to 
decide  which I like best.

I don't have a local mail-server yet.  I did buy the book on Exim, but I 
don't use it.   The Web mail-server  at BT/Yahoo  seems to work ok,  and 
I have a second fire-wall in my  ADSL  router.   

I use "snort" to keep an eye on things,  but it never mentions anything
nasty.
