[Malvern] BIOS problems.

Not sure this is related enough to matter but...
I have installed windows[1] n times this week[2]. On these particular
machines I was using the BIOS message read:
F1 to enter BIOS
F12 to select alternate boot location (or something like that)
The point was it only worked on a fresh power on, it didn't work on a
soft-reset. Did you always ask XP to reboot or did you make it shutdown
first?
The other option is to disconnect the hard drive. This guarantees the
precious[3] can't be harmed and might force you into the bios. I know my
machine automatically goes into the bios if it fails to boot properly
something like 3 times in a row.

[1] Why do you have to tell XP you are in the UK 6 times (or is it 7).
My location is UK, language is UK, keyboard is British etc etc and it
still defaults to Pacific time zone. Grrrrr!!!!!!!

[2] n = 5, maybe more. It's all a blur.
[3] One OS to bind them and all that.
