Hi Frank,
What version of Debian are you using? There are 3 flavours - Sarge
(stable), Etch (testing), and I forget the name of the unstable one..
What error messages do you get when X tries to start? If you dont get
anything on-screen when you start, try going into one of the other
terminals (ctrl+alt+F1-F6) log in as root, and type 'less
/var/log/messages' and have a look near the bottom. It may be a
configuration issue. I have had it in the past with USB mice. If you can
post back the error message, we'll be able to tell you from that what
the issue is!
