[Malvern] Laptop memory

Hi All,
I've found why my wife's laptop runs in treacle mode with any software
(M$ or Linux). When it was repaired, the single 256Mb memory (which
failed) was replaced by 128M and 64M in the two 144-pin sockets. Socket
B has died, at some point, taking the 64M out of service (the stick
still works, the socket is dead). Both XP and Kubuntu take slightly over
100Mb just to start up; leaving very little operational memory and the
machine is disk-swapping like mad, just to survive.
The machine is a Tosh SatPro 4600, so the memory is older, 100Mhz stuff.
Although the spec is non-parity, the current 128Mb stick is nECC, so the
machine seems to tolerate more than the spec indicates.
Does anyone have a secondhand 256MB 144-pin PC100 SO DIMM memory stick I
could (beg)/(buy cheap)/(swap for the 128/64 combo)? Pretty please?
I'll be at the GMH on Tuesday. Any other suggestions of ways of getting
reliable computing for Alison, also appreciated, because she needs it
for her "return-to-work" access course at Worcester 6th-Form college.
Cheers,
Andy M.
