[Malvern] DDOS bots.

There was a news item yesterday (Rory Cellan-Jones) concerning a 
concerted cyber-attack (DDOS)
directed against Latvia (I think) by the Russians.  This was in 
retaliation for the removal of a Soviet
war-memorial.

He gave a good description of how the "bots" were installed in 
compromised machines.
We all know that these are predominantly Windows machines.  I think XP 
has "open sockets".

Are there any documented instances of such bots getting installed on 
Apple-MAC,  BSD-unix,
or any variety of Linux machine ?
