If you're not high enough why not try wired radio using a transceiver set?
I've seen them in Woolies for about ?9 each.  They're considerably better
than wifi as they only tend to use the one protocol.

towers up and use dishes on top of them.  Would probably be pretty easy if
you were up on the Wells Rd.
