I will try looking into the modules loaded into the kernel.

I found a post by a Dutch guy on this topic,  but his systems doesn't 
seem to be like mine.

I tried using  :  mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt

but it says that special device /dev/sda1 does not exist.

The USB  memory stick does light up however.

The Debian is "testing",  but so is one of the others.
