[Malvern] Pbuilder Errors

Hi

Are there any Ubuntu package maintainers on the list?

I am having permission issues with "pbuilder" and have not been able to find a solution on-line. Here is the output:

stu at xps-laptop:~/packaging$ pbuilder build ed_1.0-0ubuntu1.dsc

I: pbuilder-time-stamp: 1268393631
I: Building the build Environment
mkdir: cannot create directory `/var/cache/pbuilder/build//5107': Permission denied
E: failed to build the directory to chroot

I have checked /var/cache/pbuilder/build which is empty. The double //
before the string "5107" (line 6) doesn't look right unless anyone can
explain it for me.

I know the obvious answer if to run as root (sudo) but it doesn't
indicate that in the tutorial I am following, nor does that seem
sensible!

Any pointers would be appreciated.
