Kind of depends on what you want to do. Firefox like most other modern
browsers of course already executes Javascript when embedded in a web
page. So you can easily create a html file with some embedded Javascript
and see what it does in the browser. It also has a Javascript console
where you can write and test snippets of script.

If you want to execute Javascript files as a scripting language like you
would use a bash shell then things like 'nodejs' will allow you to do
that. For command line/cron scripting I'd rather use anything else like
Perl,PHP,Python.
