[Nottingham] Partitioning works now but can't boot

Hi guys,

I got the partitions sorted out thanks to your help and Linucx installed 
but again BootMagic doesn't recognise an OS on that drive.
I chose not to install a boot loader from linux but stick with BootMagic.
My hd looks like:
primary c:                 5GB
ext. log. /boot           40MB
ext3 / (Linux on it)    4GB
Linux swap                370MB
ext. logical d:            10GB

I don't know why but Redhat made the main partition ext3 whereas 
Partition Magic 7 had previsouly made it ext2. Is there a difference?
Shall i just forget BootMagic and use Grub or lilo or wouldn't it work 
on one of them either?
