It is rather complicated, there are quite a few good graphical interfaces to 
it though, try searching on http://www.freshmeat.net for 'iptables gui' - 
iptables is the tool you use to set up a system of firewall rules in linux. 
(with modern 2.4 kernels, at least)

There was an article in Linux Pro (A supplement in linux format) last month, 
continuing this month on using iptables.. I could lend you my copy if you 
like? If you get really stuck, ask us what you need and I'm sure we'll dream 
up, and then explain an iptables script for you.
