Personally I'm more bothered about how good it is than how local it is.=20
But for me if it's further than Sheffield or Leicester then it's not
local enough for a "local" page.

Isn't that wrong, isn't it bought me a beer rather than you? :) but that
wins a mention for me. I certainly think the well-know posters to the
mailing list/attenders of meetings are prime candidtes for inclusion.

Why not:- I'd like to be considered, I haven't contributed to the LUG
what about afew references or a vote or something? Basically, if you
want it then you have to prove you're genuine. A contribution to the
LUG may not be nescessary but it is the name of the LUG and to a lesser
exent the Linux community in general we're putting on the line here.=20
For that we need a barrier to entry.=20

Hmmm, Paul offered help with the installfest so there would appear to be
at least intent there. However I think it's fair to say, as above, that
*everyone* has to prove they're on the level and that we're putting
trust in rydertech so we need some references or a review period before
necessarily putting them up there?
I realise that's more work but as old saying goes about trust...
