Fast service, maybe, but correct answer, not really, considering that
Windows NT/2k is also (supposed to be) POSIX compliant. In a nutshell,
it's a standard interface for programs to talk to the OS with.

I'd love to know what an operating system should be to be "UNIX
compliant" :-))
