Sony CDRW & Linux Re: [Nottingham] Mandrake 9.0

Sorted it. The problem arises if you take the easy way and boot from the 
install CD and choose update from M8.1. The kernel that is installed as 
default in the update doesn't have SCSI support so you have to recompile a 
kernel that does (not forgetting to include USB as I did the first two times)
