Actually I think a usenet feed would be an excellent idea. Would easily
let you see the threads on offer and let the USER decide what to read
and what to ignore. 

Before I get flamed to death on this though, I'd like to point out that
the obvious suggestion I'm going to get "well you could set one up"
isn't really a real option.  I think the last thing we really want is a
split in the community. If the status quo is fine for most people then
it should stay thus, if not the LUG should opt for a more appropriate
solution and switch over entirely, everyone and their mate willy nilly
setting up web boards, usenet feed etc would be rather counter
productive IMO.
