[Nottingham] Broadband - where does the cable modem need to go?

Might be worth looking at http://www.smoothwall.org.  I've installed it 
on a machine with similar specs (and for the same reason) and it has 
worked well.  Installation and configuration were straightforward and 
performance has been good.
