[Nottingham] debian?

Hi,

  I've just installed debian on a spare box to see if I can get it
working. Now however, I'm stuck in console mode with a 2.2.x kernel and
no idea how to upgrade the box. I'm guessing it's something to do with
the lack of "testing" lines in the sources.list file which is
preventing me from upgrading everything.

As far as I can see, it's version 3.0 "stable" but it was installed
mostly over the net from one of the minimal CD versions (190Mb of iso).
I've tried things like "apt-get dist-upgrade" and it simply says 0
packages upgraded almost straight away.

Any info would be welcomed.. if I can't get it sorted by tonight, I'm
going back to RH8 as at least I know how to get it working properly.
