As the registered owner of #nott, I apologise for this... not that it's
my responsibility what people say of course.  Anyone from nlug is
welcome on #nott, but yes, it's not a specifically linux-directed
channel, and we're a tight-knit little bunch, so we can be scared of
strangers.  As with most channels, it's best to hang around a while and
get to know people, before prodding them for advice.  But we don't
always have time to do so when we need an answer to a question.

So I'd recommend someone sets up a #nlug and registers it on whatever
network you choose to host it on, so that ops etc can be controlled.
I'll even set it up if you like, but I'd feel a bit odd since I don't
really have a prescence on this list or at meetings.  I'd hang around on
it and share my, rather limited, linux knowledge with those that
appeared and maybe some other people from #nott would come over and lend
a hand too.
