[Nottingham] reinstalling boot loader

I don't know about Slackware, but you can take pretty much any bootable
linux disk (e.g. tomsrtbt, knoppix, etc.), mount your linux root
partition somewhere, chroot to it, and then run lilo (or grub).
e.g.
mkdir /mnt/hda5
mount /dev/hda5 /mnt/hda5
chroot /mnt/hda5
lilo
exit
(assuming hda5 is your root partition, and lilo is your bootloader.)
