[Nottingham] Firewire problems

Hi all,

I'm having some problems with Firewire on my PC, or more specifically
connecting to my JVC camcorder (6pin to 4pin). I bought an E-buyer PCI
firewire card a few weeks ago which is supposedly OHCI compliant. The
chipset is an NEC uPD72874 which from looking at the Linux 1394 project
is suppose to be supported. If I run gscanbus I can see my card and get
the info from it, if I connect my camcorder I can see an icon appear for
it but if I click on the icon to get the info it just hangs, the same
thing happens in Kino if I try getting to the preferences. I'm running
Fedora Core2 and I'm using the 2.6.8-1.521 Kernel.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm starting to tear my hair out with this.

Oh I also tried accessing it with the Dynebolic Live CD with the same
results.

Thanks

Darren
