the post-inst of lilo actually depends on fully
installed <something> (libc?). perhaps file a bug?

I see occasional errors keeping an unstable machine
up-to-date. I should really file bugs for them. They
tend to be slight mis-orderings of upgrades, with
packages needed being upgraded at the same time.

Converting to ext3 is trivial (change the fstab fstype
option, create a journal, done!) - I managed it first
time (and was surprised), PROVIDING that you have your
kernel set up right, either with ext3 support compiled
in, or an initrd with the module or ...
