I'm not sure they really mean anything; the latter part used to indicate
where I lived---Nottingham, GB---in a similar vein to "Raleigh, designed and
built in Nottingham, England"; before that stopped being the case.

Then I started travelling and decided it would be fun to give a rough
indication of where I might in case people wanted to get hold of me.
I've had a quick hunt around for more obscure ones; it seems more than once
I've written email under the Channel ...but in different directions:

War is inconsistent with Truth. Eurostar, GB/FR
War is inconsistent with Truth. Channel Tunnel, FR/GB

The quote about War was one that somebody else pointed out in the book I was
flicking through at the time and seems to have been around quite alot.

Sometimes it's also about events; after several people died, whilst (using
various modes of transport), I had a signature wondering if there was
actually any safe form of transportation. Sometimes they're trolls:

   echo 'write a better(tm) text-based MUA' >> ~/TODO; echo London, GB
On an extremely-slow train. Somewhere, NI, GB

Or reputation:

Always lowering the tone. London, GB
   ...Don't mention the fridge.

Especially the reputation, of our beloved local economy:

I didn't know it snowed here! Nottingham ("home of gun crime"), GB

After the extreme snow earlier this year that covered most of Northern
Europe (I have the above quote from Lincoln, London, Paris, Lille, Gent,
Brussels, Frankfurt and Marburg) the choices seem to have started reflecting
the weather more, so we end up with runs:

I don't /think/ it snows here! Melbourne, AU
Mostly it snows here. Helsinki, FI
The summer is short here. Espoo, FI
The summer is shorter here. Tampere, FI
The summer is normal here. London, GB
The summer is wetter here. Swansea, GB

Now, I wonder who this one could have been about:

Still playing with serial ports. Still waiting for Jon.

PS. Thank you for a wonderful tour around my sigs. I've enjoyed it more
than you! Especially the ones I haven't pasted... :-)
