[Nottingham] SUSE 9.3 issues

Having a bit of trouble with SUSE 9.3 on my Athlon 900. KDE always
crashing with Sigfaults so I tried gnome instead. When I try to
shutdown the PC, xorg doesn't quit like it's supposed to do.

I'm using a SUSE 9.3 DVD from the SUSE 9.3 for Dummies book.

I've tried reinstalling SUSE 5 times today with a full format and I
still get the same issues with KDE...

My hardware is:

Athlon 800 Slot A
ASUS K7M motherboard
768mb RAM
Geforce2 MX400 AGP

Any ideas what's happening?
