[Nottingham] tar verify failure

Hi All,

I'm currently 'tar cvWf'-ing some data to tape. I pipe the logs to file to check that everything gone OK. In the logs I get a verbose listing of whats on the tape, then lines saying that each file verified OK. eg:

angelus/julia/K2walkingRoute7.x
angelus/julia/services1.txt.bak
angelus/julia/services1.txt
angelus/julia/K2walkingNaiive.f

Verify angelus/julia/K2walkingRoute7.x
Verify angelus/julia/services1.txt.bak
Verify angelus/julia/services1.txt
Verify angelus/julia/K2walkingNaiive.f

Theres about 16000 files on this tape. What can I grep for to see if something hasn't verified? I don't yet have a tape that i've had a problem with so im not sure what tar would do or say on failure to verify.

thanks
Mike Haber
