Dear all,
Today is the day for voting in the new committee. Please do use your vote!
The people standing for committee positions are as follows, listed in
alphabetical order:
President
Martin Lomas, seconded by Robert Postill
Robert Postill, seconded by Duncan J. Fyfe
Treasurer
Michael Erskine, seconded by Robert Postill
Roger Light, seconded by Michael Erskine
Secretary
Roger Light, seconded by Martin Garton
Martin Lomas, seconded by David Aldred
Robert Postill, seconded by Michael Erskine
So why should we vote for these people?
Micheal Erskine said:
"I like money!"
Roger Light said:
"I am a keen member of the LUG and have been involved with it for
quite some time now. I would like to make more of it!"
Martin Lomas said:
"I am enthusiastic for Linux and Open Source Software and the associated
ideals. I am also keen to see that we have a local lively group to
promote and share all things Linux and to enjoy some (geekie and
non-geekie) socialising. Most of all, this is a good group and all
positive fun! All worthwhile working for and promoting. I will be doing
what I can to help."
Robert Postill said:
"The reason I'm proposing myself is that I'm a regular attendee of LUG
meetings, I have helped organise the Awareness Days and believe I could
be scrubbed up and made presentable for a wide range of audiences."
How to vote?
To vote, send a single email to nottingham at lug.org.uk (NOT
nottingham at mailman.lug.org.uk!), preferably with the subject "Vote".
List your preferred candidate for each position or "Reopen
nominations" if you think that non of the candidates for a position
are suitable.
Only email addresses registered on the list at the time of the
election announcement are eligible to vote.
The deadline for email votes is 5pm. Votes may also be cast at this
evenings meeting if you are unable to vote by the deadline, but email
votes are preferred.
Looking forward to your votes.
Thanks,
Roger
