In that particular email, the list is CC'ed and the To is Java Lynx. The 
spam filter thing thinks that Java Lynx sent the mail but the From in 
the mail it received is Peter so it replied to Peter. I'm assuming that 
a similar thing has happened again but it remembers (errantly) that you 
attempted to send mail on a previous occasion.

You're right that it's got bugs a plenty!

He should've used Perl (of course!)
