Now here's a good obscure problem...

Given a piece of mp3 music, are there any utilities to compare a short 
section of that music against other mp3s to find matching sounds?

For example, given a bar of music, find other mp3s that contain a 
similar sounding bar?

Similar sounding can be either by instrument sound or just for sequence 
of notes independent of the instruments.


Should be good for some frightening FFT stuff!

Anyone ever tried this or know of any utilities to automate a search?

(Other than by using their own grey goop!)
