Remote desktop is pretty straightforward - "rdesktop". I've used it,
although a long while ago. As for VPNs, I don't really know anything
about them but I got this response on irc: "Assuming a bog standard
win2k or similar windows server providing a VPN service (pptp/l2tp),
yes. A recent distro+kernel should be able to do it straight out of the
box."
