Word or warning.  If you are going to put system essentials on the RAID
configured disks make doubly sure you have a working rescue disk with
ALL necessary drivers and software.  Both software and hardware RAID
have their fair share of bugs and finding the distro rescue disk does
not include an essential driver or tools is yet another source of
frustration.
