Nooooooo!!!! Mac OS X does not mean *BSD compatible.
Darwin/Mac OS X use the Mach kernel [1], not the BSD kernel. The BSD
stuff in Mac OS X is a FreeBSD 5.whatever userspace iirc.
Mac OS X support means, in most cases, that the vendor ships an OS X
binary driver with installer.
*Phew*
Just wanted to nip that in the bud before people go off buying Mac OS
X compatible cameras.
