Hi, folks -

I promised more details on the things I am selling. The PC will be
sold today (I already have 40 GBP offered) and the rest needs to go by
June 10th. I'll be moving on the 11th.

I'm accepting best offer for the PC and the printer, even if the best
offer is very low. For the books it's a little different - see below.

Pickup of heavy things can be arranged - I live near Canning Circus
and the city centre. Can bring some things to tonight's meeting.

  *** Books for Sale ***

Title, Author, Date, Cover price (USD)

“How Linux Works”, Ward, 2004, 38 USD
“Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Networking”, Habraken, 2004 23 USD
“Practical Subversion”, Rooney, 2005, 35 USD
“Running Linux”, Welsh & others, 2003, 45 USD
--- For asking prices in GBP, divide the above cover price by 4

A special set of books for sale:
3 books set by Edward Tufte on data visualization –
“Visual Explanations”, “Envisioning Information”, “Visual Display of
Quantitative Information” – Asking 60 GBP for the set.

A word about the Tufte books – I wasn’t going to offer them for sale
because these are excellent books that I don’t want to part with (I’ll
buy them over again in the US if I sell them here). But they’re heavy
and it seems so wasteful both in money and cost to the environment, to
move them back to the USA. Besides, books cost so much more in the UK,
that even if I charged their US retail price it’s a decent bargain for
UK folks. But I’m asking less than the US retail price. These books are
in perfect condition, with dust covers. They are each signed by Edward
Tufte, but not autographed to any person – just his signature on the
title pages at the beginning of each book.

If you know anything about Tufte you know that these books are each a
masterpiece not only in their content but in the production of the books
themselves, with precise colour printing in most illustrations,
fold-outs, etc.

Feel free to email me off-list if you want to discuss any item.

If there is a book you want, and you'll be at tonight's meeting at
the Nav, I will bring it.
