[Nottingham] Ultra portable laptops?

Hi all,

I keep reading more and more about ultra portable laptops (like the
Asus eee) in my RSS reader and I like the sound of them! I noticed a
few people with ultra portables at the last meeting, would anyone care
to offer the pros/cons & any annoyances of such devices. Obviously the
keyboard is miniscule and you can only fit half a website in your
browser...

... is it worth it?

... is it easy to install your own distro (ubuntu) on them?
