Thanks for that. That works remarkably well, as tried out for the first
time for a recent episode of "Question Time".
For anyone wishing an easy "crib", the command line instructions are:
Download for example the get_iplayer perl script for the player from:
http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/download
eg:
wget http://linuxcentre.net/get_iplayer/get_iplayer
That should work on all distros that have perl installed.
Then, to make the script executable:
chmod +x get_iplayer
Run the script to let it download some plugins:
./get_iplayer
Then stream the Question_Time_-_22_10_2009 program to mplayer (or
whichever your favoured player is):
./get_iplayer --stream 600 --player='mplayer -cache 3072 -'
Resize the display window with your mouse to fit or to fill your screen.
The "600" is the index for that program for the time being.
Look up:
http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer
for further instructions and conditions.
Happy viewing,
Cheers,
Martin
