[Nottingham] query on new laptop

Hi,

When I ordered my new DELL laptop, I told them I didn't want Windows
with it, they said fine and gave me a discount. Apparently, it is
possible on all DELL SME computers, laptop and desktop, but not on the
low-range.

I wonder : what can you do with a webcam on Linux. I can't make it work
with Pidgin, as apparently it does not support webcams, what can you do
with it ?
