Folks,

Wheee... It's been 2 years since my post for the Arduino on Mandriva 2008!

Well, the Arduino IDE install instructions are a bit simpler now due to
the very kind efforts put into http://www.blogdrake.net/ and of
Alejandro Vargas for the rpm.

All that is needed now to install Arduino on Mandriva 2010.0, in a
terminal as root is:

[root]# urpmi.addmedia --wget --distrib
ftp://ftp.blogdrake.net/mandriva/2010.0/i586

[root]# urpmi arduino

Note: Ignore the line break for the first command, it must be all one
line. Replace the "i586" with "x86_64" for 64bit systems.

The Arduino IDE also needs the sun Java "JRE". If you have a web browser
installed, you'll likely have that in place already. On my system, I
already had installed:

java-1.6.0-sun - Java Runtime Environment for java-1.6.0-sun

A good link to take a look at is:

http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/HomePage

There's also quite a few youtube vids of arduino projects.

Have fun!
Martin
