That exists for newsgroup reading in Thunderbird: just press "k". I'm
surprised it isn't available for all threaded reading.

A work-around would be to select a thread subject to be killed by using
the mail filters. A few extra clicks instead of just hitting "k"...


Just as well the list usually isn't too busy!
