Why should the name Linux win over that of GNU? What is so
intimidating about the name GNU/Linux?
"Now don't get me wrong, I have a lot of love for GNU and what Stallman
and the FSF have done..."
But not enough love to have you publicly named alongside Linux.
"...but I don't feel that the distinction is
worthwhile to site visitors."
Just how many visitors have said this to you? Is the distinction not
worthwhile to the GNU contributors?
So for simplicities sake GNU should be reduced to a footnote.
There's nothing wrong in my opinion with the site naming both major
contributors.
