Nope. My other half here is still on an old iMac and wouldn't
recognise a torrent from a trickle ;-) Thankfully, she doesn't work
from home!

I'm wondering if something like a Sheeva plug might fit well to put
together a custom gateway. I could also add some additional
wizardry...

Mmmm... I lost a couple of days of fun with that. In my naivety, I
couldn't believe the NAT and firewall were so fragile. The wireless on
it works well. Fortuitously, the "R30" firmware has been out for about
a month and that saved the connection by providing the dumb modem
option. That then makes for a very big shiny black box with very
bright lights that is now just an oversized modem. Here's hoping for a
firmware revision to fix the NAT and subnet routing, or to permit
enabling the Wifi and router whilst in modem mode... (I doubt that if
the switch is effectively on the WAN when in modem mode.)
At least that is all vastly better than ADSL!...
Which still leaves the original problem...
