Thanks for that... Fun indeed!

Well, there appears to be no good and clear nor concise explanation
anywhere on the web as far as I can see!

Hence... A work-in-progress:

Anyhow, my immediate question appears to have one possible answer of:

mkfs.btrfs -L Your_partition_name -s 16384 /dev/sdXX

and messing with a partition table is moot when btrfs itself supports volumes...
