Is it just going to end up as a publicity stunt for anonymous? I agree that ACTA is good for no one, but worry things like this just won't help.

Subject: [Nottingham] Anti ACTA-Protest

Hi there,

I thought people might be vaguely interested in an Anti-ACTA Protest
happening this Saturday.

ACTA almost certainly would not be a good thing for the linux or open
source communities.

Cheers,

Tim

Description

ACTA aims to destroy freedom on the internet. We cannot allow it to go
forward. Protest it by joining this group and coming along to a public
protest in the Nottingham market square on Saturday 4th February 2012 at
1pm.

PLEASE SPREAD THIS EVENT! Invite your friends and get as many people to
join in as possible!

*** WHERE TO MEET ***

At the moment, we aim to meet in front of the lions at the Old Market
Square. We may be marching towards the Victoria Centre, but this has yet
to be fully organised or confirmed. These details may change, so please
keep up to date with this page to make sure you're in the right place.

*** WHAT TO BRING ***

SHOULD
- Billboards, signs, flags, leaflets, posters (some will be supplied,
hopefully)
- Cameras and smartphones, so you can post stuff live from the event.
- Friends, family, workmates, random nutters - as many other people you
can find!
- Your own food + drink, plus any medical supplies (e.g. plasters) you
might need.

COULD
- Fun / silly stuff (inflatables, stuffed toys, etc)
- Anything fun you can hand out to people
- Portable stereo (playing Russian Trololo or RickRoll would rock)
- Megaphone (please don't piss people off with it though!)

*** DRESS CODE ***

SHOULD
- V for Vendetta (Guy Fawkes) mask, or some kind of trollface/anon mask.
- Black (or very dark) plain clothes, or something crazy and bright to
catch people's eye.
- Any sort of clothing with anon / pro-freedom / anti-ACTA slogans
- Hoodies are generally a good idea.

COULD
- Suits
- Umbrella or waterproofs in case of heavy rain
- Something warm, it's almost always cold!

*** BEHAVIOUR ***
Please don't do anything illegal, trespass on private property, get
drunk, vandalise property, harass members of the public or obstruct
traffic flow. You should remain civil at all times, and comply with any
reasonable police requests. Violence, obscenity and abusive behaviour
will not be tolerated! This is a peaceful protest - we do not want
anyone getting arrested.
