The continuing attacks on civil liberties by governments mean that
eventually all software will use strong crypto for everything.

So if you as a police officer appreciate the fact that people
generally don't think to use crypto, maybe you should speak to your
MP about the draft communications data bill.

Since this, if passed as-is, will result in widespread snooping on
the nation's Internet traffic, I suspect it will do more to promote
day to day use of crypto than anything else the Internet has ever
seen.
